Prehistory (Before AD 43):Early humans arrived around 900,000 years ago. Later, Neolithic communities built monuments like Stonehenge around 2600–2200 BC, followed by Celtic Iron Age tribes.

Roman Britain (AD 43–410): Emperor Claudius launched a successful invasion in AD 43. The Romans built cities, roads, and Hadrian's Wall before abandoning the province in the 5th century.

Early Medieval & Anglo-Saxon (410–1066): Germanic tribes (Angles, Saxons, Jutes) settled the region. King Æthelstan united the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms into the first single Kingdom of England in 927 AD, surviving numerous Viking conflicts.

Norman Conquest & Middle Ages (1066–1540): Duke William of Normandy defeated King Harold at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, introducing French influence, feudalism, and castles.

Tudors & Stuarts (1540–1707): The English Reformation under Henry VIII broke ties with Rome. The 17th-century English Civil War led to the temporary execution of King Charles I and a republic, followed by the Glorious Revolution of 1688. England united with Scotland in 1707 to form Great Britain.

Empire & Modern Era (1707–Present): The Industrial Revolution originated in England, fueling the rise of the British Empire. Following the 20th century's World Wars and decolonization, England remains a core part of the United Kingdom.
